Germany, Poland and Czech Republic

I just returned from an exciting trip to Poland. The company I work for is building a new plant there. So, unfortunately I did have to work most of the time :( However, I managed to squeeze in a trip to Wrocław, Poland and also Prague, Czech Republic. The trip to Prague was interesting because there isn't really a highway to go from Bolesławiec (where we were staying) to Prague. So, we drove on smaller roads through Germany then up into the mountains and down to the Vltava River where Prague is situated. The drive was very beautiful and we soon found our hotel then headed out into town. Our friend Bartek, an engineer from the plant, came along with us and was a great tour guide. He knew all about the city and the history of different places.
This is me trying not to freeze, with Prague Castle on the hill in the background.
The architecture in this part of the world is amazing. I was fascinated by how old and beautiful everything is. It is easy to imagine what it must have been like to live hear a few hundred years ago.
The old town square was really beautiful and there were some bands playing. Oddly enough, this band was playing Rag Time music, which I thought was funny but they were very good.
This is a picture I took of St. Vitus Cathedral, inside the Prague Castle. We were trying to cover a lot of ground in a day so we didn't go inside too many places. I'm sure I could spend a month in Prague and still leave wanting to see more.
I have a lot of pictures from my trip. Too many to post on a blog. So, I've created a web gallery that you can check them out on. Click on the link below and it will take you there.

Happy travels,
Brian
